Hot to Trot

  For this week’s Tuesdays with Dorie selection, we have cocoa cayenne cookies from the cocktail section! These are hot hot hot! It kind of sneaks up on you. I liked these as a novelty but it’s definitely not your everyday cookie. This would be good to make for a friend who loves cocoa and heat or it could be a funny practical joke and call them a chocolate cookie (not a lie!) April fools day is coming up! Side note not necessarily about the cookie and sort of involving politics, so feel free to move on and have a cookie. I have to say, I baked all the cookies in Dorie’s Cookies already, and I did it with the intention of venting my frustrations and outrage with our former US President, and also baking and eating cookies, and I posted a blurb about the days events (there was always something, as you may remember).  For todays Tuesday with Dorie selection: Swirled. Spiced. Sour Cream. Bundt Cake. I am soooo glad to see people again! Went to a family party and I was delegated to make the dessert! Yay! Everyone enjoyed this cake, Twas moist and flavorful. I didn’t Use all the swirl because I wasn’t as aggressive with it the first go around. 2nd time around there wasn’t enough of the last layer of cake to cover it- it was still delish but I’m left wondering what could have been. what the heckerli, time for a leckerli

  Today’s Tuesday with Dorie selection comes from Dorie’s Cookies! Leckerli, which are spicy bar cookies, were a tasty addition to my Xmas cookies a few years back. I enjoyed these cookies, but these were actually pretty labor and time intensive for me to make them again. I’ll eat them again for sure!  #doriescookies #doriegreenspan #tuesdayswithdorie
